Principles of Assessment for the Continuum of Clinical Competence (CAME-PACCC)

CAME-PACCC is a course for medical educators interested in developing better skills in the area of assessment of clinical competence. This interactive course will review principles of assessment and provide an opportunity for practical application back in your home setting. Focused attention will be given to examination blueprint development and to commonly used assessment methods such as written examinations, assessment of clinical skills, workplace assessment and to assess blueprinting.
CAME-PACCC is designed for individuals who have significant responsibility for assessment such as course directors, clerkship directors, residency program directors as well as those involved with the assessment of physicians in practice.
This version of the course will be given in English. Stay tuned for the next French version in 2017.
At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
• Describe the principles of meaningful assessment in the continuum of medical education
• Compare and contrast various assessment method
• Critique the adequacy of the present assessment strategies within your setting
• Create an improved program of assessment relevant to your setting
